Building Luna Journal in public
Most apps only show you the finished surface. I want to do the opposite with Novaire: write down the decisions while they're still uncertain, so the reasoning is visible, not just the result.
Build the thing you actually need, then be honest about how it's going.
Why a journal, and why voice
I kept meaning to journal and never did. Typing felt like one more chore at the end of a long day. Speaking is different. You can do it walking, half asleep, or in the gap between two meetings. Luna started from that one frustration.
This is placeholder copy for the devlog. Replace it with the real story when you're ready to publish.
What I'm trying to get right
- Recording feels instant. One tap, no setup.
- Your words stay on your device by default.
- Reflections help you think, without nagging you.
- Nothing in the app is designed to farm your attention.
More from the devlog.
What “private by default” actually means
Privacy is easy to claim and harder to design for. Here's the line I draw, and the trade-offs that come with keeping your journal on your own device.
Shipping slowly, on purpose
One app at a time, finished properly. A note on why Novaire isn't trying to fill a roadmap.
