What “private by default” actually means
It's easy to put “privacy-first” on a landing page. It's harder to make the engineering choices that back it up, and to be upfront about where data genuinely has to leave the device.
On-device first
Your entries live in a local database on your phone. I don't run a server that holds your journal, which means there's nothing of yours for me to lose, sell, or be compelled to hand over.
Placeholder copy. The full reasoning, and the exact list of what touches a third-party service, lives in the privacy policy.
