Privacy Policy
Meridian Clock ("the App", "we", "our") is a timezone-native alarm and world clock application developed by Novaire Digital Pty Ltd ("Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App uses, how it is used, and your choices as a user. The short version: the App keeps data to a minimum, does not sell it, and only uses it to make your alarms and clock work.
1. Who we are
Meridian Clock is an independent application. For privacy questions, contact hellonovairedigital@gmail.com.
2. Data we use and why
2.1 Location (optional)
- What: Your approximate or precise device location, only if you turn on local weather.
- Why: To fetch current conditions and sunrise times for where you are.
- How: Location is used only while the App is open. It is sent to the weather provider (Open-Meteo) to return a forecast. We do not keep a history of where you have been, and your location is not shared with anyone else.
2.2 Google Calendar (optional, read only)
- What: Your upcoming calendar events, if you connect Google Calendar.
- Why: To show your next meeting on the alarm and, if you choose, to create a Safety Net alarm before an event.
- Access: The App requests read only calendar access. It never edits, deletes, or creates events in your calendar.
- Storage:To keep the connection working without asking you to sign in repeatedly, a Google refresh token is stored securely on our backend (Google Firebase). We do not store the contents of your calendar events on our servers. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
2.3 Anonymous authentication
- What: An anonymous Firebase identifier.
- Why:To link your stored calendar token to your device without knowing who you are. This identifier is not tied to your name or email. Firebase's privacy policy applies: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
2.4 Usage data and analytics
We do not collect analytics, crash reporting, or usage telemetry.
3. How we share your data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
Data is shared with the following services only as described above:
- Open-Meteo: weather forecasts for your area, if local weather is turned on.
- Google and Firebase: calendar access and anonymous authentication, if you connect a calendar.
4. Permissions
The App requests the following Android permissions:
Calendar access is granted through your Google account and is read only.
5. Data storage and security
- Your alarms, world clock cities, and app settings are stored locally on your device.
- The only data held on our backend is a Google Calendar refresh token, stored so the calendar connection keeps working. It is kept where only our backend can read it.
- All network communication uses HTTPS (TLS).
- We do not operate our own servers or cloud database for your alarms, settings, or calendar event contents.
6. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your choices and deletion
- You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Settings. Disconnecting deletes the stored refresh token from our backend.
- You can turn location off at any time in your device settings.
- Uninstalling the App removes the data stored on your device.
For any privacy requests, contact hellonovairedigital@gmail.com.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above.
